What is Skillsmate

Skillsmate can be imagined as two twin sided virtual pin boards, one for the independent worker (Technician) and the other the Organisation, typically a larger contractor.

On the Skillsmate platform they can both see display boards offers of service and opportunities to fulfil a need for service plus space to exchange notes, advice and comments as to location, duration, availability, timeframes, skills needs and budgets.

Once a price, place and type is agreed, Skillsmate accredits, accounts for the services rendered and opens access to the built-in multilingual reporting and Health and Safety training, and HMRC submissions toolkits. On our backboards Organisations and Technicians can also exchange confidential reminders, calendars, notes and exchange that information between each other. All operable from a PC, Tablet or smartphone.

Contractor Benefits

The fee is transparent and is made up of three parts

  • The agreed rate and time utilised on the job of the independent worker that week.
  • The fixed weekly oversight charge, made up of the management, reporting and documentation of works and HSE training, support service, data management and software costs. Typically this is £35 per week for the Skillsmate service.
  • The Payment processing fee. This is the costs to Skillsmate Ltd of processing the weekly invoices and applications from the Skilled Mates and is 2.5% of the sums paid to the Skilled Mate that week.
  • There is a cost option for the lone working package “Protect” if activated of £7.50 per month. Once activated the Skillsmate Protect software monitors for falls and late finish of tasks with an escalation of customisable alerts of the Skilled Mate’s location.
  • There is a Contractor cost option of £40 per month for the “Geomate”. Geomate allows managers and skilled mates set deadlines, work flows, register certification proof of works location with full interrogation on productivity and much more. Please ask for a demonstration.
  • Insurance for each Skilled Mate can be either determined or arranged by Skillsmate if required at low cost via our dedicated team on a case by case basis.
