Once we have registered you as an accredited Skillsmate Technician , you can access the App. When you are working on the Skillsmate project just enter the site number and the App will activate, giving date and location time stamps. You can upload documents and pictures of your work during the day. Just click “report” to issue to your Organisation.
Once activated the App records your site, and times of work, also use the diary function to book work into a calendar and ret reminders. Also notify Organisations of your availability.
Skillsmate is now active after 3 years of development and testing. Once logged on to Skillsmate and your site is uploaded (this is given to you by the Skillsmate App), just confirm that this is correct for it to calculate the hours worked, the agreed rate for the hours, and thus the amount of your Application. At the end of the working week, confirm the details are correct, or ask Skillsmate to amend to create that week's Application for payment. This is then issued to the Organisation and processed for payment within the agreed time frame set out when accepting the work at that site.
Skillsmate will verify your tax status and pay you and the relevant tax due (Construction Industry Scheme – CIS). Seven days after the end of the month, you can download a statement of payments and tax deducted.

Log into the lone working module, enter your site, and when you anticipate your finish time and frequency to send “I’m OK” messages. When that “I’M Ok” reminder come up you have 5 minutes to supress the “Call me” message being issued to your nominated minder, and 10 minutes for that to be issued to Skillsmate who will if we cannot contact you issue an alert to the emergency services at the 15 minute “Help me” message being issued.
